THE VALVES OF OUR GENTLETENT PRODUCTS | EXPLAINED

>For both types a valve adapter is needed! The adapter is included in shipping and recognizable by its grey-red colour. Since the valves originally come from boats and water sports, we simply like to call them “rafting valves”.

To ensure a smooth set-up of our inflatable GentleTent and B TURTLE products, some general knowledge about the workings of the built-in valves can be of advantage, so here is a quick rundown.

The Push-Push-Valve

The so-called push-push valve is the most commonly used valve in our products. It is characterised by its simple handling by means of pressure. A push-push valve - as the English name says - is opened from a closed position by one pressure or closed again by two pressures. The opened position is recognizable by the valve end which is set in a deeper position than in its closed from.

The valve(s) must remain closed, if the products are inflated via double-action hand pump or an electrical pump. A mechanism within the valve enables air to be pumped in via air pressure, without letting it escape.

For the disassembly of our inflatable products, all valves must be opened.

The Push-Turn-Valve

The Push-Turn-Valve is used for all products made of drop-stitch materials (for example for the roof top tent GT ROOF or our micro caravan B TURTLE) and, occasionally, for older products.

Starting from a closed position, a Push-Turn valve – as the name suggests – is opened with a right turn while applying pressure and closed via left turn while applying pressure. Like the Push-Push-Valve, the Push-Turn-Valve’s open position is recognizable by the valve end which is set in a deeper position than in its closed form.

The valve(s) must remain closed, if the products are inflated via double-action hand pump or an electrical pump. A mechanism within the valve enables air to be pumped in via air pressure, without letting it escape.

For the disassembly of our inflatable products, all valves must be opened.
